About the Youth Ushers

Our Site

Thank you for visiting our site.  We are the Youth Ushers of Bethel Baptist Church located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  Our site is a fun, interactive site that will show our events and information.  Our President is Sister Gloria (Doll) Reed and our Pastor is Reverend Nathan Coleman.

We have fun!

Although ushering is a serious task, we also have fun. In fact, we have a LOT of fun!  Last May we marched in a parade.  We had enjoyed marching together.  Our group carried a black and white banner for our church and an American flag to symbolize  unity both of our church, our group and community.  The president of our usher group, Sister Reed walked with us for most of the way and our vice president, Sister Sherry Thornton stayed with us through the entire event.

Also in the parade our pastor, Reverend Coleman rode in the back of a truck with some of the deacons and they threw candy to the crowd who watched the parade.  As they threw candy, many of the children watching ran into the area to pick up the candy.

The parade was part of the Phoenixville Dogwood Festival in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  After we marched we rode on the carnival rides, ate food, and played carnival games.  I won a fish that did not last very long and then sadly I got another one that died in the fish bowl after I got it home.  We had fun at the Dogwood Festival.

We Enjoy Our Church

This is a picture of our church, Bethel Baptist Church.  Although we have a good time doing outside activities, the true meaning of being an usher is being of service to others.

We Learn

Being of service, makes me feel proud to be a member of the usher group because we all work together to help people feel comfortable when they are in church.

I have learned that although we may are young, God can still use us to serve.  Being involved with the Young Usher’s group teaches us how to follow rules given to us by our leaders, and handle the request of the congregation.

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness:  Come before His presence with singing.  Know ye that the Lord He is God:  it is He that hath make us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:  be thankful  unto Him and bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.  -King James

Thank you for your comment. The Youth Ushers group is a lot of fun – We also work in the church to make people feel comfortable when it is our turn to usher.
      God bless,
